Network News: Ever tempted to rage quit?
A trusted network is something no entrepreneur should be without
Ever felt like flipping the tables?
Claire Kavanagh first came to a meal with 9others in January 2018. Claire is a customer experience guru having played a pivotal role in the foundational team at giffgaff, where she built the community, communications, retention and member referral programs. As a consultant with 15 years experience specialising in customer experience, she has led transformative customer service projects, such as collaborating with Tottenham Hotspur to launch their new stadium.
At last month’s meal with 9others1 Claire shared how she’s also helping people who are on the cusp of ‘rage quitting’ figure out if their startup idea is a goer and what it needs to look like before they write that resignation letter.

Starting a startup is a terrific thing to do but Claire has seen too many people jump in just listening to their heart and she wants to give them some tools and trusted counsel so they can think with their head as well as heart.
Claire has started ‘Start My Own Business’ — here — so that people in that rage quitting mindset can find out if self-employment is really for them. She does this by helping think things over such as:
Can you afford to quit and start that startup idea or should you do it as a side hustle for a while first?
What kind of traction — revenue, customers, KPIs — is right before you make the leap?
Do you have the skills and experience needed or are there gaps?
Given everything else that’s going on in your life, when is the right time for you to quit and startup?
It may well be a case of JFDI, but perhaps J-think-it-over-a-bit-then-FDI…
Talk to Claire
So for those contemplating a dramatic exit from their stable job to embrace self-employment Claire wants you to take a moment before rage quitting.
In the last four years, Claire has mentored hundreds of aspiring entrepreneurs. She has observed a common pattern — individuals, often driven by impulse or misled by unreliable promises of quick gains, jumped into starting a business without being fully prepared.
Leveraging these insights and her personal experience, Claire has created a program to guide individuals. Through 1:1 mentoring and courses, she's helping people identify immediate things they could do, such as career adjustments, and then determine the optimal time to hand in their notice.
