The Unaccelerator
Katie & Matthew first met Paul Sturrock back in 2015. Paul has been to numerous meals with 9others and parties, but more importantly he’s worked closely with both Matthew & Katie and many startups over the years to design a strategy for successful fundraising, growth and continuous innovation.
With all that experience Paul has launched Climb Works and he’s calling it an ‘Unaccelerator’.
Over the last two decades Paul has designed bootcamps and training programmes for founders across the sciences, arts and tech. Paul also co-founded one of London's most successful accelerators and helped hundreds of founders to build their business.
However, having seen all of this Paul has been working hard at fixing the parts he thinks don’t work quite so well. Traditionally, accelerators are a short-term one-size-fits-all programme, they take equity and they assume you want to build a unicorn asap with venture capital.
With his new Unaccelerator Paul’s approach is different:
No equity taken.
Help setting your own objectives and then support keeping the commitments you've made to yourself at a pace that fits your timeline and context.
Elements of the programme are only taken if they are relevant to your business and stage.
There’s no assumption you need investment. Paul will help you decide, and if you really do then he can help you get investment-ready.
At the end of your cohort there’s no ‘cheerio!’. This is a long term relationship and Paul wants to add value to your whole journey if that’s what’s needed.
