As we posted last week, the parties with many more than 9others are a chance to get together loads of people who have been to a meal with 9others, plus other good folks, to meet and help each other out.
And over the years the team at ‘Only With Love’ (OWL) have sent up a few cans of Matthew’s favourite soda (the Lupho, below — it really is!) and some Juicy AFs to contribute to the 9others community.
So in today’s post we’re pleased to be able to share a little more and tell you that the OWL brewery based down in East Sussex is raising a bit of investment1.

“We’re Only With Love and we do beer, with impact. We don’t just make award-winning brews, we use them to breathe new life into communities.
“We’re building an ‘estate v2.0’ of venues across the UK, creating spaces for healthy, mindful drinking that bring friends and families together. We’re fuelling this by selling our product into supermarkets, pubs and bars at home and abroad in the fastest growing categories — alcohol free and session beers.
“We’re on track for £4m revenue in 2028 at 15% profit. We’re raising £600k over the next 6 months (£150k immediately) to power our next stage of growth — including a move to a new, bigger and more sustainable brewery site and to help with our debut in Co-Op stores across the UK... both happening in October this year.
“I’d love to chat if you’re keen to talk about OWL, a brewery with a key social mission to transform the way we drink and think about beer in the UK”.
Community credentials
Launched in 2023 the ‘Brewcafe’ is a joint venture with Lewes Council and shows OWL’s dedication to social impact and supporting the communities they operate in.
Here’s a snapshot of what went on there in 2024:
60k drinks served, including plenty of AF.
100 Book Club nights.
52 Saturday Park Runs.
50 Craft club nights.
12 Open Mic nights.
12 Fundraising nights for local schools and other causes.
OWL also supported Zumba Classes, OAP Bowls, Morris Dancers, Dog Training, Community Choir, Yoga, Community Parties, and more…
Plans for the future include launching ‘social prescription’ collaboration with local medical centres and a volunteer-run community garden.
