Berlin → Singapore → Amsterdam
Remember 2012? Back then 9others was pretty new, just a few months old and still finding its feet, still figuring out what it could become. We (Katie and Matthew) loved hosting in London once a month but we began to wonder what scale might look like…
12 cities in 12 months
We had a bit of a planning session that summer. Should we do more dinners in London? More people? What about bigger events? Hmm, not sure.
What about other cities? People were crisscrossing the world with customers, colleagues and clients in far flung cities so, we thought, maybe there were people like us who’d want to host a good meal with 9others in their city.
It felt right.
So Katie blurted out, “Right, that’s it — let’s do 12 cities in the next 12 months”.
Elise was first and successfully hosted in Barcelona. She scheduled a second.
Then James introduced us to Matthieu.
Berlin & Singapore
Matthieu was in Berlin so we scheduled a Skype call (!) and he totally got what 9others was about and how he could help.
So he hosted meals with 9others in Berlin for many months, and not only that, when he moved to Singapore he hosted there too.
And now Amsterdam
After Connor kicked things off in Amsterdam in January Matthieu has stepped up yet again to host 9others.
